The base diameter is approximately 12″ with sides about 16″ high including handle. This basket received its name, because it was used to set by the hearth to hold kindling or to carry wood for the fire. The basket is woven with sturdy 3/8″ flat oval and features an arrow twill weave. The rim is finished with a Gretchen rim. The Fireside Basket could also be used as a picnic or magazine basket.
