The approximate size at the top is 9″ in diameter with sides that are about 7″ high. This basket is a reproduction of a basket made of rye straw in Pennsylvania. It could be used for a variety of things from holding a bunch of apples or oranges in the kitchen to wash cloths and soap in the bathroom. With its swing wire handle it makes the basket very versatile. The basket is woven with ¼” flat oval. The sides can be either plain or accented with a dyed reed of your choice.
